ohai!
My name is Bettina and I'm a photographer and embroidery artist living in Michigan with my husband and charmingly sassy cockapoo, Lucy. My love for photography began when I was just 16, after my grandfather gifted me a small Kodak Easyshare. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what to do with it at first, but it quickly became apparent that I had unearthed a passion in capturing all that life had to offer through the lens.
Every thought, every emotion.. Every single moment around me felt like it radiated a certain perspective; a point in time that I was able to freeze and immortalize with the press of a button. And I became obsessed.
Until recently I thought photography would be the only art I'd ever feel such a drive to create, but in the winter of 2021, after admiring countless embroidery artists online, I finally branched out and dove headfirst into the colorful world of thread. With the hardships of newly acquired diagnoses for chronic illness, I somehow found catharsis in spending hours tediously piecing together a variety of stitches to bring the nostalgic, nerdy things I loved to life.
These days I find myself consumed with the intricate art of embroidery, often getting lost for hours in the details of thread, and I’m immensely grateful that I can continue to nurture my love for photography by designing 3D prints of the embroidery pieces I create.
